Lee Sheftall Elmore

Born: January 1955 in Jacksonville, FL to Cornelia Screven Dozier and LeRoy Sheftall, Jr. The 3rd of four children – Scott, Sally & Reid.

Education: Stockton Elementary, Lakeshore Jr. High, Bartram for Senior High (class of 72), Attended Univ. of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Profession: Began modeling in college, which set a path in the fashion industry. Worked for Georges & Clothes Collection from 1973 to 1980, Mikey from 1980 to 1987. In April 1989, opened Lee Allen Jacksonville in San Marco, where young designers were introduced to the fashion minded. Lines by Michael Kors, Georgio Armani, Anne Klein, Calvin Klein, DKNY, Pamela Dennis, Tom & Linda Platt and many more were exclusively available at Lee Allen. In addition to the clothing lines, the boutique was responsible for offering an eclectic selection of shoe lines. Robert Clergerie, Walter Steiger, Espace & Anne Klein to name a few. The store closed in December of 1993. Following her extensive retail background, Lee entered the world of real estate where she began her career with Prudential Network Realty’s Ponte Vedra Beach office under the guidance of Linda Sherrer as CEO and Amanda Dandy, office manager. Within four years, Lee rose to being #2 in her office and one of the top 5 agents in Prudential Network Realty. In October 1999, Lee was offered an opportunity to work with Bryan Weber of Flagship Communities, selling the renowned Ocean Villas at Serenata Beach, 90 oceanfront condominium homes. Within two years, the community was sold out and Lee began working on the most recent riverfront condominium home development, VillaRiva. Opening sales to the public in May 2003, VillaRiva started construction in less than 6 months and within one year was 50% sold out. Unprecedented figures in Jacksonville’s pre-construction condominium market. VillaRiva was ready to begin closing the lower floor units of the twelve-story tower in June of 2005. Lee and her sales partner, Lynette Tyson, have been busy giving special attention to the Buyers as they close on their new homes and are busy selling the last condominium released by the developer.

Personal: Husband Kelly Rustin Elmore, Landscape Architect, from Richmond, VA. Daughter; Reid Telfair Elmore (8), Stepsons; Brian McDowell Elmore (17) and Kevin Rustin Elmore (15).

Lee’s paternal grandfather, LeRoy Sheftall, came to Jacksonville in the early 1900s after Jacksonville’s well-known fire, as a young architect from Savanaugh, GA. He apprenticed under Henry Klutho and designed many of Jacksonville’s historic homes in Riverside, Avondale and San Marco.

Lee is a native of Jacksonville, growing up on the west side of the city in the Ortega Forest neighborhood. After attending college, she moved home to live in old Ortega. Following the sale of her Ortega home, she moved to The Alexandria condominiums in San Marco and then purchased a pre-construction riverfront condominium at Park Plaza in the Riverside neighborhood of Jacksonville. After enjoying 10 years at Park Plaza, she lived in a house on Riverside Avenue that her grandfather had designed before moving to Jacksonville Beach in 1995 to begin her real estate career with Prudential Network Realty. She fell in love with Atlantic Beach and moved there in 1997 with her husband, Kelly. They have since purchased a riverfront condominium at her most recent sales development, VillaRiva, and plan to maintain both residences so that she may be active in both the beaches and the city real estate markets.

Lee has been involved throughout her adulthood in many fund raising efforts for numerous organizations.
